As a Snappr photographer, your portfolio serves as a key part of your profile.
It is how you get your style recognized, get more bookings, and overall, grow your business. It shows potential customers your latest and greatest works and tells them which types of shoot they may want to work with you on.
That being said, most photographers don’t actually update their portfolio very often — meaning, the first thing that customers see are often stale photos that no longer represent a photographer’s best.
We regularly review portfolios and remove photos that negatively impact its overall style. However, it’s up to you to add new photos! We encourage our partner photographers to update their portfolios every few months.
Here are some quick and easy tips when updating your portfolio:
- Upload at least 6 photos per shoot type
- Keep your portfolio organized by uploading photos that match the shoot type. For example, your automotive portfolio shouldn’t have event photos in it.
- Display different styles/themes to showcase your range in a shoot type
- Remove images that are overprocessed or unprofessional (ie: text overlays, fake black backgrounds)
- Ideally portfolio photos have an aspect ratio of 3:2
Here's what you should avoid:
- Uploading low quality or pixelated images
- Uploading photo screenshots
- Leaving photos that are rotated wrong in your portfolio
- Uploading magazine or editorial cutouts
- Uploading photos with borders, frames
- Uploading photos that are too dark or too light or blatantly bad
- Using diptychs and photo collages
- Using watermarks or signatures
Please upload at least 6 photos per area of specialization to ensure you show up as a specialist for customers looking to book that type of shoot.
