Photographers have a 30 minute buffer time by default to help transition between shoots. You can increase your default buffer time to 60 minutes if you want to have more time!
Here’s how it works:
- Using your Snappr Photographer App, tap your profile icon in the upper left to see the menu.
- Tap Availability.
- Tap Buffer time between shoots.
- Choose between 30 minutes or 1 hour. The default is set to 30 minutes.
- Tap Save.
An example of how your chosen buffer time affects your availability:
- Your chosen buffer time will block the 30 or 60 minutes on either side of all existing bookings, calendar events (if set to busy), and manual exceptions.
- Assume that you’re generally available from 9am-1pm on Mondays.
- Assume that you have a booking or calendar exception from 11am-12pm next Monday.
- Setting a 30 minute buffer will also block off 10.30-11am and 12-12.30pm next Monday (on either side of your busy event), which means you can only get booked from 9-10.30am and 12.30-1pm.
- A 60-minute buffer will block off 10-11am and 12-1pm, which means you can only get booked from 9-10am.
Some important things to keep in mind:
- Please be realistic in setting your buffer time and consider your service area, mode of transportation, and set-up/break-down time for your preferred shoot types.
- Choosing 30 minutes as your buffer time time will allow customers to book you for more shoots but this will leave you less time to transition to your next shoot.
- Choosing 60 minutes as you buffer time will allow you more time to transition in between shoots but it might also mean fewer bookings due to less availability.
- When you set your service area, make sure you set it so you don't get booked for shoots that are too far apart for your chosen buffer time. It is possible for you to frequently receive back-to-back bookings with only 30 or 60 minutes in between if you operate in one of our busier cities.
- When you block off busy times on your calendar, please keep in mind that our system will automatically block off an additional 30 or 60 minutes on either side of that event to give you time to transition.
